Nottingham Cellars is focused on and committed to the pursuit of the capturing of Cabernet Sauvignon and its accompanying Bordeaux red varieties, with an emphasis on the cultivation of site-specific single vineyards. They produce grapes from vineyards with different growing conditions, all of which are owned and farmed by people with common objectives in mind. They aim to create a team that is as committed to quality and hospitality as they are, and they challenge each day to bring joy through wine to everyone.

In 2009, the Cranor family began their journey through the wine industry in the Livermore valley. Since day one, their mission has been to produce world-class Cabernet Sauvignon and to find sustainable winegrowers who have the same dreams of quality as them. They have often advocated the unrecognized potential of this area. At its heart, the Livermore Valley has nuts and bolts to produce wines that are as good as anywhere in the world.

In 2019, after a decade of concentrating solely on world-class vineyards in their home AVA, they decided to branch out and explore some of the most spectacular Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards in the Napa Valley from the popular Atlas Peak, St Helena and Rutherford regions. Making these wines side by side was an eye-opening experience, and they are still in the process of seeing how these wines are progressing. They couldn't be more optimistic about the future as they plunge deeper into the North Coast.

The wines of the Appellation Series are created with the goal of providing a snapshot of each vintage from a specific growing area. Grapes were obtained from multiple vineyards within these regions with varying growing conditions, altitude, slope, clonal selection, row spacing, vine age, etc. With several available vineyard sites, they are able to produce wines with complexity and reflect a diverse collection of growing conditions within a certain AVA. They sell these wines directly on a case-by-case basis and are available in selected restaurants and retailers.

They still have a handful of Vasco Urbano wines in stock. These Rhone style offerings were influenced by the art of Vasco Urbano Loureiro, who spent a year in what is now downtown Livermore caricaturing prominent people in our region. Quantities are very small and they have agreed at this time to avoid making these wines. Get your piece of history until it's gone.
