Victor Mataraso
Victor Mataraso has built a career out of helping others build their businesses. He is passionate about helping entrepreneurs and small business owners enhance their professional image, improve customer service and streamline their operations in ways that grow revenue, reduce costs and create more free time.
As the founder of Reliable Receptionist, Victor has been interviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle, and profiled for the California Employers Association. He has also been a featured speaker for the San Francisco Chapter of the American Marketing Association, and has authored numerous articles on increasing profitability through improved customer service. He holds an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University and a B.S. in Communications from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University.
In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children at their home in Walnut Creek, CA. His hobbies include hiking, biking, singing, songwriting and playing guitar.
Reliable Receptionist was born out of the idea that there should be a better option for small to mid-sized businesses who don't have the budget to hire a dedicated telephone receptionist, prefer not to subject their callers to a voicemail maze, and wouldn't dream of outsourcing their bread-and-butter telephone answering to anonymous operators huddled in a call center in another state or country.
We evolved from the notion that key employees should be free to focus on what they do best without being expected to stop their work and "play" Receptionist. That callers should be greeted warmly and treated with respect and that business grows when callers are assisted in real-time. That voicemail can be a good way to take a message, but is a lousy way to greet your callers.

A recent survey of 1,000 adults -- conducted for FastCall411 by Synovate, the Chicago market research firm – found more than 80 percent said that an immediate phone response from a merchant was either “important” or “most important” in deciding to give that merchant the business. Despite that fact, an earlier study of 5000 businesses revealed nearly two-thirds listed in typical Internet and mobile directories were not responsive to an immediate consumer request for service.
